Visitor Paths: As your visitors navigate your website, they will take a certain path clicking from one page to another. Each string of a visitors browsing session is considered their "Visitor Path". Paths which are too long or too short could indicate a problem with your site's usability. Look at your most popular paths too see how you can optimize the experience. Cookies: GoStats tracks how many visitors to your site have enabled their cookie settings on their internet browser. Most browsers have cookies enabled by default, however some applications could limit or prohibit cookies. If you find that many of the people browsing your site do not have cookies enabled, it might be a good idea to educate them: Cookies are useful tools to allow one to retain settings for a given site in one's internet browser. Most common reasons for cookies are persistent logins, and site customization. JavaScript Versions: The version of JavaScript which your visitors use can vary widely. It is however a good idea to test your javascript functions on at least the top most used versions. If you cannot obtain an old internet browser with rare versions, it migh be a good idea to leave a message to some of your site visitors asking them to give you feedback. Java Enabled: Java for web browsers is a popular active control for web browsers. The visitors who have Java capability installed in thier browser will be able to run any java conrols on your site. It is a good idea to measure the number of enabled Java browsers on your site before adding java controls. You may also want to direct your visitors to download Sun's Java if you notice that the number of java enabled visitors is low. IP Addresses: |
