I have found several websites using the GoStats counter while creating fraudulent traffic for the purpose of boosting top sites ranking.

Here are some reasons why this is not acceptable at GoStats:

1 GoStats must pay for bandwidth.  And bandwidth isn't cheap.  As falsified traffic so does the burden on GoStats bandwidth.  And since false traffic never clicks on the GoStats counter to view the ads at GoStats this creates a large financial burden.

2.  CPU power is limited and especially with specific cases of fraudulent hits which may come at once and slow the site down.

3.  Other sites ranked on the top sites board got there from their hard efforts in promoting their website.  fraudulent hits are just cheating these hardworking web masters.

I've been removing some counter accounts which have either been using fraudulent means to inflate their traffic ranking.  I have also been removing account which are hiding the counter.  Please don't make it hard for me to provide free counters.  If you are asked to remove your counter code please do so.  If you are polite you may be permitted to get a new account and track your stats legitimately.
